Cheap Sauvignon Blanc…Careful!

The Tasting Note Says:

“This cheap and cheerful little Sauvignon dominated blend has all the traits of a much pricier Sauvignon from a more noble region..”

Which means:

“if you are the type who can’t tell the difference between the back of a postage stamp and a decent Sauvignon then this diluted wee-like juggy might suit your tightly buttoned purse”

Another suspect white blend!

The Tasting Note says:

Pale yellow with delicate shades of green, an intense floral and herbaceous aroma. The palate has notes of gooseberry, grapefruit and green apple-recommended with seafood.

It meant;

Looks like floor cleaner, smells like an air freshener, tastes as refreshing as something you’d spray to unblock your nose.

My lender would be kicking down my door for his interest if he knew I was drinking at all. Now I spend my time with the €5-€10 bottles discovering some real value and encountering some swamp donkeys to be avoided. This blog is a Wine Diploma holding palate, forced to trawl the murky depths populated by the bare knuckle fighters of the "entry level" wine world, trying to reveal the real crackers. Tasting notes exposed!! Regular explanations of the rubbish that are tasting notes! Wine Waffle indeed! Stories and trivia about wine.
